Oswaldo Cortes

Bird guide biologist and Co-founder

Oslwaldo was born in 1984 in Bogotá, and fell in love with birding from an early age. He graduated with a degree in Biology from the Universidad Distrital “Francisco Jose de Caldas” and continues furthering his education through an ongoing Masters in Biology degree at the Universidad Nacional. In 2005 Oswaldo undertook a series of long trips throughout the various major biomes of Colombia ( Caribe, Santa Martha area, Eastern Andes, Western Andes, Central Andes, Choco, llanos and Magdalena Valley) with the objective of learning the tremendous variety of different birds, their voices and their unique habitats Oswaldo is always avidly birding all over Colombia, that is, when he is not researching, recording bird sounds, preparing papers about birds’ rediscoveries, or attending scientific meetings (which he of course takes advantage of to do more birding, as he’s done in Brazil, the US, and South Africa). Currently Oswaldo is co-founder and leader guide of Bogota Birding & Colombia Wildlife Tours.

Daira Ximena Villagran

Manager, biologist and Co-founder

Born in Bogotá D.C. Daira has been leading birding tours since 2017, mostly in eastern andes but also she is mammalogist guide in andes area. She knowledge of birds around bogota and always impresses clients. Recently he has taken a keen interest in Monkeys and orchids and is quickly becoming an expert . Ximena splits his time between Cundinamarca, Boyaca, Santander area, where She worked a ecology and conservation of mammals. Currently Daira is co-founder and manager of Bogota Birding & Colombia Wildlife Tours.

Camilo Orjuela

Bird guide

Native to Bogotá, Camilo has been a nature and biodiversity enthusiast since childhood. He has been birding since 2001 and his passion hasn’t stopped growing. He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Macquarie University in Australia and all his academic work was related to biodiversity conservation. Fluent in English and focused on costumer satisfaction, Camilo will mix all his knowledge, experience, passion, good eye and willingness to help, to make sure trips run smoothly and visitors have a great experience in every sense.

Diana Romero

Bird guide

Born in Cundinamarca. Naturalist, professional in graphic design and marketing. Professional tourism guide of Colombia specialized in bird watching guidance certified by SENA Colombia. Birding guide. Advises some natural reserves and supports conservation causes.

León Sánchez

Professional Birding and Nature Guide

León Sánchez, is a professional tour guide specialized in bird watching in the city of Bogotá, knows other hot-spots in Colombia such as the Sierra Nevada de Santamarta, Manizales region, Cali region and Bogotá Region, with experience in the work with national and foreign tourists, expert in registration, identification and interpretation from the different groups of tourists who visit us. León actively work in the birding of Bogotá, Cundinamarca and Villavicencio.
