ENJOY AND DISCOVERY THE BIRDWATCHING IN CHINGAZA NATIONAL PARK

Morning (5:30am).

We will depart to Chingaza National Park full day. This incredible place is located only one hour and half away from Bogota. We will be birding here all the day exploring Paramo and moorland ecosystems at a altitude of aproximadly 2800-3400m. Breakfast at 6:15am, after we will take a 20 -minute talk at 7:00 am at the National Parks Office in La Calera town (Induction before entering at the National Park). Then, we will continue to Chingaza.

Endemic Birds: Green-bearded Helmetcrest, Bogota Rail, Brown-breasted Parakeet, Muisca Antpitta, Silvery-throated Spinetail.

Near-Endemic Birds: Blue-throated Starfrontlet, Matorral Tapaculo, Golden-faced Whitestart, Coopery-bellied Puffleg and Black-billed Mountain-Toucan.

Other target birds: Andean Siskin, Black-headed Hemispingus, Rufous Antpitta, Noble Snipe, Black Backed Grosbeak, Rufous Browed Conebill, Eastern Meadowlark, White-chinned Thistletail, Scarlet-bellied Mountain-Tanager, Slaty-backed Chat-Tyrant, Plumbeous Sierra Finch and many more birds!!!

We will take the lunch inside national park with 2 options: Picnic or lunch in a restaurant in the Monterredondo area around 12:30pm.

Birding on the road, also we can to visit the Suasie trail or Laguna Verde trail.

Return to Bogota D.C. in the afternoon (Around 4:00pm)
